Spend time collecting shells on the beach or finding interesting rocks in the woods. You should not have to spend a lot of money to have fun getting to know each other. Dining Dining out is another traditional date activity.
Eating out can be fun when you go on a double date or large group. Go out for coffee and dessert, and order a few different desserts to share. Go to a pizza parlor and order odd topping combinations and see which ones you like best. Pack a picnic and eat outdoors at the beach, the park or in your back yard. Cook dinner together for a group of friends. Host a potluck, and assign each couple invited to bring one thing. Have an ice cream sundae party and assign prizes for the best looking sundaes and the best flavor combinations.
Dining together allows young couples to interact socially while enjoying a meal. Serious couples also may consider eating meals with family members so they can build relationships as well. Educational Educational dates are a fun way to explore new interests together. Attend a museum or an art show. Free and discount passes to museums are sometimes available at local libraries and community centers.
Take a one-day course to learn something fun, such as cooking, pottery or charcoal sketching. Go to a lecture or a youth retreat where speakers are giving inspirational talks about religion, motivation or life lessons.
Drive around to some local yard sales and see what you end up with. Go on a bike ride. You could even pack a lunch! Have a living-room campout. Make a tent out of blankets, watch a movie, and sleep on an air mattress.

Take a look at nature or local scenery. Find changing leaves in the fall, flowers blooming in the spring, and so on. Remember to bring some treats in case you get hungry. Have a video game night. Grab some food and drinks and stay in for the night playing your favorite video games.
To make things a little more difficult, try bowling in different styles, such as using only your opposite hand, playing granny style, closing your eyes, etc. Have a movie marathon.

Watch your favorite movies for a movie marathon. While you watch, munch on our Snickers Popcorn. Have a TV-show marathon. Have a theme night. Pick a theme for the night and center everything around it. For a Mexican night, you could eat Mexican food and go salsa dancing. Try taking dance, pottery, or cooking lessons together. Go to a different restaurant for each course of the meal: Take turns picking where to go. Have a spa night. Write a list of 20 questions to ask each other. Share your answers afterward.
Make breakfast together and eat it in bed. Attend an exercise class at a local gym, take a walk or jog together, or do something active.
Go for a test drive. Head to your nearest car dealership and test drive your dream car. Then choose one for your date-night hike. Read through the Guinness Book of World Records together and find something the two of you could potentially achieve as a couple and then do it together as a cheap date.
